Approach to Coaching:
My goal is to provide high level endurance coaching and advice to each of my athletes to the best of my abilities. Believing in a straight forward and simplistic approach that is based in scientific research to help athletes reach their goals.
Coach Nate’s Philosophy:
With my fascination and passion for triathlon and running, I have been able to fully immerse myself in all aspects. We will set your goals and design a training plan around you. I will be data (heart rate, pace, power) driven to progress your training and provide a purpose and goal for each workout. You can contact me as often or as little as your like. I am here to help you achieve your goals.
There are so many training plans out there but you will never find one customized for you and your life. So leave it to me to design your training plan, review your data, keep you motivated and let you remain committed to the other aspects of your life.
I started as an endurance runner over 11 years ago running numerous half and full marathons. I was then introduced to cycling and triathlon in 2008, racing my first sprint triathlon in 2009 and wow I was hooked. I haven’t looked back since, competing in sprint, Olympic, half Ironman and Ironman distance races over the last few years while also running half marathons, marathons and finishing an ultra marathon (50 miler).
I have been a member of the US Army over the last 17 years through both Active Duty and the National Guard. I have a graduate degree (MS) in Exercise Physiology (MSU, Mankato) and an a PhD Student in Exercise Science (NDSU). I am a certified USA Triathlon (USAT) coach, certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and as a Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator (TSAC-F) as well as certified to administer Functional Movement Screen (FMSC).
